You probably do what you can to avoid getting in accidents when driving, just out of habit.
You follow traffic rules, pay attention to your surroundings, keep an extra eye out for pedestrians and cyclists, and, of course, you definitely don’t text and drive. You do all of those things, right?
Regardless of what we do, short of not driving anywhere, traffic accidents do happen – to everyone. So, what else can we do to try to avoid accidents? We can avoid those places where traffic accidents take place most frequently. Or, at least, be especially careful when we need to drive through those locations.
Some places have more accidents simply because they have more traffic. In other spots, it is because of limited visibility, poor road conditions in that area, or a general lack of attention by drivers on those streets.
But what are the roads and intersections in The Valley where the most traffic accidents happen?
We have offices in Houston, Corpus Christi, and Victoria; and will travel to any corner of Texas if we are capable of preventing an injustice.
It’s technically not an intersection, but one study of accidents from 2013-2015 showed a 1.49 mile stretch of Interstate Highway 69C (right around mile marker 170) in Edinburg was the deadliest stretch of highway anywhere in Texas that year.
Many people who live or work in The Rio Grande Valley may not be able to avoid these dangerous areas entirely. But knowing where to be even more careful than usual may help avoid accidents.
Unfortunately, regardless of what you do, accidents still sometimes happen. If they happen to you, and you need legal assistance to protect your rights, and receive fair compensation for injuries or damage done to you and your property, Carrigan & Anderson is here for you.
